I am new to site and HT as well.
I am just completing new construction and have built dedicated HT room for 1st time.
My question is on Blu ray vs. PS3.
Room is 14'6" x 20"8" x 8' Ceiling.
I have 3 rows of 4ea theater seats with 2nd and 3rd row on 8" and 16" platform.
Floor is carpet and have played with accoustic panels (a little).
I have an Epson 1080 projector, Dalite (?) 110" screen, ONKYO HT-S9100THX 7.1 surround, and currently using an older ONKYO DVD player.
I am VERY pleased with all components so far but need to take the Blu ray plunge (HI, my name is Scott and I am an HD-Aholic).
Anyone have both PS3 and equally priced Blu ray?
One better than the other?
(I am not a "gamer" but have children and grandchildren who could be).
I have been told that the PS3 will not utalize true 7.1 audio but do not know.
My budget for BR player is $300 or so.
Any comments or suggestions?
Thanks
