I can't even post in Firefox now.  I had to go into IE to see the Reply box not closed off.

Working fine for me in Firefox. Had to re-login after the 3.5.3 upgrade, though; the reply box didn't show up until I did.

Even after rebooting and installing the updates, it doesn't work.  But, it's only on one computer so the problem has to be there somewhere.

Are you running NoScript?  Do you have YahooApis blocked?

Not running anything like that.  I haven't made any change to the computer.  It just stopped letting me reply today.  I don't really know where to start looking to fix the problem.  At least this computer's Firefox works with the HTF.

Does it work if you hit refresh (usually f5) a time or two?  The interactive engine sometimes fails for me too (about once a week) but refreshing usually brings it back...

I don't know what happened but the forum won't work with Firefox, it happened to me yesterday afternoon, it took ages to open up any page and still does. I see it trying to connect to ad.afy11.net for about 5 minutes before the page finally opens up.

I can use the forum with Explorer but Firefox is my preferred browser, I hope this is a temporary problem, otherwise I'll be visiting this huddlerised forum even less than I already do.

I'm using Firefox 3.5.2 and I haven't recently updated or installed anything to the pc.

I don't have trouble with that URL slowing HTF down but often DoubleClick makes the site slooooow.  Maybe that's what is happening for the OP.

Still not working.  I just signed on with Huddler's ski forum and it works with Firefox on this computer.

I rebooted and things are back to normal, for now.

I thought I'd use this existing thread and throw this observation out there and see if anyone else is having the same issue.

Ever since I upgraded to FF 3.5.3, I am finding that Firefox is crashing quite often.  This is something that NEVER used to happen (well, once in a blue moon, maybe).

It seems like every sixth or seventh thread I jump to, FF up and disappears and leaves me with a new "crash reporter" box (not unlike the Microsoft reporting box).  It will then restore FF to the same tabs and sites you were at when it crashed.

No other sites have yet caused such a FF crash.

Anyone else?

I've had problems with HTF and firefox for as long as I can remember. (With XP and Vista) Now I'm getting the symptoms described by Greg_sh above, and I still can't reply from a specific post.  Clearing cookies does nothing. It even hassles me when manually copying text into the "Reply" box at the bottom, saying my security settings are preventing it from directly copying the text.

EpicSki and EcoHuddle seem to be just fine. I figured it might be an add-on, but then why would those two work?

I just noticed it displays properly on my Windows 7 laptop, though.

edit:
OK, I see the "Reply to" and "Edit" functions are among those "invisible" buttons, which is a step above what I could do with the previous versions of this forum. But it still difficult to find which button is which, and where.

Ironically, I've been forced to switch to Firefox when viewing the HTF because IE8 doesn't show all the threads. Firefox appears to be working; but frankly, how do I know?

What do you mean it doesn't show all the threads? Can you elaborate? I haven't noticed this, but then perhaps I just don't know what I'm missing. Those threads probably aren't interesting anyway.

I first noticed it when a thread I contributed to refused to show in IE8, though obviously it showed to others because it was replied to. I switched to Firefox and there it was - since then I've noticed that quite a few threads show in Firefox that don't display in IE8. Never seen anything like it.

Would that thread be "The Whistler...The Falcon" or whatever it's called? It keeps jumping around on me. Now it's under the "Paul Seydor's Pat..." Driving me nuts for a week now as it keeps popping up under another thread title!

Yes, that's the thread that first alerted me that something was screwy, but I didn't realise it was as screwy as that until you pointed it out. Both threads I've contributed to recently - maybe it's all my fault!

The thread list in IE8 is completely different to the thread list in Firefox.

That thread shows up for me in IE8 and it appears to be in the correct order. All threads are sorted by most recent post date in descending order.
I'm sorry, I don't see it. What's the problem with the image above?

OK, I see it now. I should've read your post a little more closely. I fired up Firefox and compared the difference in the SD DVD - Film and Documentary page. You're absolutely right, there are 5 threads missing from the IE8 view. They are all grouped together. Between the "SPHE Press Release: Julie & Julia" thead and the "Paul Seydor's PAT GARRETT AND BILLY THE KID" thread there are five additional threads in Firefox.

See images below for comparison.

IE8:
IE8 view with missing threads

Firefox:
Firefox with additional threads

I would consider this a serious issue and that should be looked into as soon as possible.

Like Ed, in IE8, when I open the Garrett thread, I get the 'Whistler' thread instead. As said, I get a completely different forum with different threads in a different order IE8 to Firefox and I'm not sure if either is correct (though due to the above error, I trust Firefox more than IE8).

Hmm, I'm seeing the threads in the exact same order, but with just those 5 missing. I haven't tried clicking on any of threads. I went through the whole list on that page and everything matched except for the missing ones. I haven't compared other forums, though.

[cue twilight zone theme] That is weird and fascinating John

EDIT - Just saw the printscreens

Is it possible IE is censoring the threads? Maybe the ones with foul language? Just doesn't make any sense.

Do we still have the same member names in the IEverse forum?

I'm also able to reproduce the issue with the missing threads in IE6.  I'll make sure we get a fix out ASAP.

It's pretty amazing that someone would even have noticed the missing threads in the first place.
