Written and directed by Oscar® winner Steven Soderbergh (Best Director, Traffic, 2001), this film is credited with ushering in the Independent Film movement of the ’90s and launching Soderbergh’s career. An intense and smoldering James Spader, (three-time Emmy® winner for TV’s “The Practice,” 2004 and “Boston Legal,” 2005 and 2007), stars alongside Peter Gallagher (American Beauty) and Andie MacDowell (St. Elmo’s Fire) in this dark comedy that exposes the sexual proclivities of these three characters and how their subversive behaviors transform their lives.
