I am looking for new front speakers that are well balanced and wide imaging at low volume. I have been looking at Energy rc10, axiom M3, paradigm atoms and monitor audio br2.

Here are some very nice bookshelf speakers, that are very good for movies, but also are very good with music. http://www.polkaudio.com/homeaudio/lsi/#lsi9 These are 4 ohm speakers, so they like having a little power to push them. I've never heard one bad thing said about them. I have a pair of them myself, and very much like them. I wish I could afford to buy another pair.
Samsung HL61A750 (LED DLP)            Onkyo TX-SR805

I am looking for a pair of speakers for below $350 just to listen  to music in stereo. I have Klipsch RF-82 for my fronts on the home theater.  You have to run them at high volume to over come the horn tweeters and the bass is flat at low volume.

Andrew,

Welcome to the forum.

Oh, come on, stop advising evryone to build their own speakers, please. It's not everybody's job hobby and/or pleasure.

Maybe not, but......... if you look at what you go to the store and buy for all kinds of money vs. what you can build, why wouldn't you. I originally bought a pair JBL ND910's for my system and after going through them and upgrading the components I have no idea why someone would have paid $700MSRP for a pair of these speakers. Even my friends Paradigms that reatil for $3000 ea. look pretty but sound wise aren't any better than what I have seen home built for a fraction of the cost. His question is about what he can do for a good set of bookshelf spreakers for under $350 and I gave him my opinion. Sorry if this is something not allowed. I will not post anything esle.
