Connecting Wii to Onkyo HT-R670

Hello all,

Please let me know if the following connection is possible.

I purchased the Onkyo HT-S6200 system for the entertainment center. The system is using the HT-R670 receiver. I have the following connection successfully connected without any issues TiVo, Blu-Ray player and Xbox 360 connected to 3 of the 4 HDMI IN ports. The HDMI OUT port is connected to the LCD TV. I get sound and video from all 3 devices.

I want to connect the Wii (with component wires for Wii) to the AV receiver and have it output to the TV. The wire package has the 3 component wires (green, blue red) and 2 analog (red/white) wires for audio attached to the same harness.

Is there a way to use this connection to and have the audio and video through the AV receiver? If I can't output through HDMI, I'm ok with not using HDMI for Wii but would still like to run the audio and video through the AV receiver.

With only one component video source, there's no point in routing it through the receiver, since it doesn't have upconversion.  Just connect the component wires straight to a TV component input.  Connect the audio to any unused input on the receiver.

Excellent idea. I must have been over thinking the connection. I just tried it your way and it works like a charm.
