HK Flix Firmware update for OPPO Region-Free

HK Flix is sending an e-mail message to their customers advising there is now an update for the OPPO making the unit a Region-Free BluRay player.  The e-mail includes the website to obtain the download for the firmware update.  Wow that did not take long the player was just released and now it becomes the second Region-Free BluRay player.

Except this isn't official firmware, as discussed in the main Oppo BDP-83 thread (which I guess this'll be merged into shortly!). This will be a third party hack of the firmware, so the usual risks of it bricking your player apply, and as soon as Oppo release a new firmware you're reliant on it being hacked again if you want to update and remain region-free.

The link provided in the email would have been nice. Anyhow isn't this really old news? Or does this refer to a new hacked firmware? ie. not the 'beta 601' firmware, which has been available for a long time now.

PS: Link to hacked firmware --> www.codefreedvd.com/dvd_oppo_bdp83_multiregion_firmware.html
