I just built my first HTPC with a Radeon HD 4550 graphics card (so I can run sound through the HDMI to my receiver), an E5200 CPU, and a BD drive. I use ffdshow and Haali splitter for my codecs and play the Blu Ray in Power DVD. I feel like the picture is very grainy and disappointing compared to the PS3. I have looked through and tweaked ffdshow but with no substantial results. Any suggestions? Also I have ATI's Catalyst Control Center installed and set to display at 1080p.
