Florida wins the SEC, goes to national title game.  Loses all it's seniors this year and any junior that is good enough to enter draft, then they suck next year, finally!

UGA has a down year.  Mississippi wins the west.

SEC-West 2009-2010 Season
1. LSU 11-1: A late season loss to Ole Miss ruines the perfect season.
2. Ole Miss 10-2: Losses to Auburn and Alabama beat down the Rebel hopefull.
3. Alabama 9-3: Well sorry season for Alabama JPW was more effective than we all thought and the offensive line just can't get it done losses to Auburn LSU and Arkansas
4. Auburn 7-5: Losses to West Virginia LSU Georgia La Tech Kentucky.
5.Arkansas  8-4: More wins overall than Auburn but all 4 losses in the Conference, Losses to LSU Ole Miss Alabama Auburn.
6. Mississippi State 2-10: Well Dan Mullens offense at Miss St is a total flop and as a result he gets ousted after one year Loses to everyone on the schedule except Jackson St and Middle Tennessee.

I will have my SEC East update on Thursday!

Arkansas has pulled off some very big upsets over LSU, Alabama and Auburn in the last few years.  I hope no that I know in real life sees this but they won't beat Ole Miss this year.  The game is at Oxford and the crowd will be all over them.  I will come back and edit this later in the year.

I'm picking the Boll Weevils to go all the way in the Gulf South and NCAA D-II this year.

I went to Michigan's home opener today versus Western Michigan. While the Broncos are certainly not a top program, it was encouraging to see UM's two freshmen quarterbacks play well in the 31-7 win. Tate Forcier and Denard Robinson looked much better than anyone who lined up under center last season. Forcier has the better, more accurate arm (but is fairly quick, too), and Robinson is lightning quick (but has a good arm, too). There may be some hope next week at home against the hated Irish.

Big longhorn fan here so I am biased, but I like Texas to cruise to the NC game against Florida. I'll need to see more of each team to make a prediction for the game though. With the loss of Bradford for a few weeks and Gresham for the year, I no longer have concerns about the Red River Rivalry. The only serious game I see now is OSU in Stillwater on halloween night. Texas has the history of not showing up for that game and barely squeaking out a win, so that game has upset written all over it. I hope we dont get caught looking ahead to the OSU game, because we play at Mizzou the week before and they really impressed me with their play against the Illini.  

I did attend the game saturday and I am really excited about this season. I havent seen a longhorn team with this much team speed in awhile. I'll just trust that Muschamp will continue to improve our defense.

I don't know. I watched part of the Ole Miss v. Memphis game and Ole Miss was ok, but not impressive. On the other hand, Arkansas beat the soup out of a high school team for the season opener.

I don't have an overall SEC prediction but I think the Hogs are going to be 7-5. We have a tough schedule and two of our best players are out for 4-6 weeks with injuries.

It always feels great to beat the hated Irish. Great game, and the freshman QB Tate Forcier looked very good, once again.

Did anyone see the end of the Notre Dame - Purdue game on Saturday night?  Purdue tackled the Irish ball carrier on 2nd down inside the Purdue five yard line with about 35 seconds left, and ND had no time outs. Clausen was signaling for the team to line up so he could spike the ball and stop the clock -- which would have made it fourth down. Incredibly, Purdue called timeout before ND could even line up for the spike!

So, instead of it being fourth down with probably 20 seconds left on the clock, it's only third down and 35 seconds left. This gave ND two tries instead of one to get it in the end zone. They failed on third down, then scored on 4th down. The extra down saved by Purdue calling timeout cost the Boilermakers the game.

That was one of the worst coaching moves I've ever witnessed at that level.
