Henson and Lionsgate have teamed up and are releasing both the final season and a holiday single-disc in November. Awesome!

I already own the complete series. Will this release or the holiday release also mentioned contain any bonus material not on the complete collection, besides the animated Fraggle Rock episode mentioned as being included with the holiday release?

How nice since I just sold my S1-S2-S3 sets last week in order to purchase the complete series b/c I figured it would never come out.  Yay for me.......

I wouldn't recommend going for it even now, you'd be better off buying the 4 seasons individually even though you just sold the first three seasons. I suspect it might even be cheaper that way, I'm seen some of the season sets pretty cheap at Wal-Mart's recently.

The packaging for the complete collection is shoddy and you'll likely find that at least 1/4th of the disc are loose when you recieve it. And it doesn't nicely fit on a shelf with other DVD's.

While I'm happy with it since none of my disc got damaged much and I'm just happy to now own the entire series, if I was going to buy the series now rather than back in January like I did, I'd go for the individual season releases.

That complete collection reissue revealed today looks nice, I'm guessing it's like The Dick Van Dyke complete series with individual slim cases containing the disc, inside the outer packaging?

Wish I had waited, I feel a bit ripped off myself now that I bought the complete series with inferior packaging and some slightly damaged disc for $50 more. Guess I know what it was like for the fans that were buying the individual sets felt when HIT screwed them over.

I'd hate to be collecting this series rather than just wanting them to watch. There's those 5 volumes of selected episodes they released, 4 season sets, two different complete collections, and that holiday release. Getting close to needing an entire shelf for just this show for any fans buying it all.

Another thing to remember about these new releases: they will probably NOT contain any replica material, like the first three individual seasons and the earlier complete series set did.

Are the episodes on the Merry Fraggle disc contained in the other 4 seasons? Or was this something in addition to the regular series?


I don't have time enough to watch all these DVDs!

The holiday DVD should be all previously released Fraggle material.  To my knowledge, nothing new has been created. The extras will contain material from other Henson holiday specials, such as Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas and The Christmas Toy, which may be new to DVD.
