Llooking for a v recievers with firewire input for dvhs deck that  upconverts video to either DVI or HDMI. I know this will be an older unit but   not a concern at this time  Its for a secondary system. TXNR 1000 is not in budget new  for  now.

Firewire on a receiver?  Does not exist.  You'll need some other solution.  What are you trying to do?  Old recordings you'd like to play back?  Maybe you need a JVC D-VHS deck w/ component output.

If you mean iLink (for audio) then the Yamaha 4600 had it. So did the Pioneer 74/84txi (and the new big-buck SC-09) and some Denon units (called Denon-Link). Not sure of their up-conversion abilities however.
