I Have a TX-SR605 with a Bose Acustimass 10 for 5.1 Channel ( all the 5 speakers pass thru the Sub-wofer ) and I completed the 7.1 adding two Bose 161 direct from the receiver. I want to know if this setup is appropiate or Should I drive all the speakers direct from the receiver.

Connecting through the bass module (not really a sub) is correct, don't go direct for the cubes.

Bose would be the last choice of most of us though, for speakers, if returning/selling the Acoustimass is a possibility.

Depends how much total money you want to spend on the speaker set.  Also if you have particular dimension limits (width x height x depth) for the satellites and the subwoofer.  Bigger speakers have advantages for better sound, particularly bass reproduction, but sometimes aesthetic considerations & cost are more important leading one to pick smaller ones.
