Keeping track of your collection

Hello,

I'm new to the forum but I was wondering what types of software anyone was using to keep track of their movie collection. I have a few thousand movies as well as a few dozen tv series that I want to be able to keep track of. These movies are on my my hdd that I would like to keep track of. More than just the file name I'm looking for an app that will let me browse thru my collection on my pc and see what the move is about.

I've tried a few apps but they are either too complicated or take to much time to manage. Does anyone have any suggestion?

When you walk through a storm, hold your head up high, And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm, there's a golden cloud, and the sweet silver song of a lark,
Walk on through the wind, Walk on through the rain,...

I use DVD Profiler as well.  It has a feature that lets you keeps up with who you've loaned movies to.  It's a very good program.

First of all, this was posted in the wrong area. The Movies area is for substantive discussion of movies. Software for managing a collection could be discussed in a number of other areas, but I've moved this to Computers and HTPC.

Second, if you have movies or shows on your hard drive that have been derived from copy-protected DVDs, those can't be discussed here. Please review HTF Rule 5 (use the link in my signature).
Zoloft and Paxil and Buspar and Xanex, Depacon, Chronaphin, Ambien, Prozac,
Ativan calms me when I see the bills.
These are a few of my favorite pills.
