The Disclaimer
Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

Fine round up of ladies...i mean discs!

Anyway, big week. Doctor Who, Torchwood, and i was gonna get Galactica on Blu. Not so sure now. I dont think i want the compete set. Not with crappy cardboard slip pockets. Not for $200, anyway. Might have to check it out in store, or get 4.5 on Blu, for now.

Thanks as always guys!

It's odd that A River Runs Through It is getting a BRD release so soon.  The SD-DVD is generally a $5 disc in the bargain bins.

Mike...I guess you should re-title this thread "Weekly RoundUp - The Hotties Edition" ......nice selection indeed.

My top selection will be The Galactica Boxset followed by Fast & Furious: both on Blu-ray.

Also plan to get the following BDs eventually....

Green Lantern: First Flight
Torchwood: Season 2
Torchwood: Children Of Earth
12 Monkeys

Very big week for me....
Recently watched- The Mummy(1999)[BD], The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe[BD], You Don't Mess With The Zohan[BD], Patriot Games, Groundhog Day[BD]

Currently watching- Heroes: Season 1[BD], SNL 1976-1977: Season 2, Rome: The Complete Series[BD]

Ordering Green Lantern from DD later in the week, with the BSG Blu set to follow in November.

We're going to BB so I can pick up just a...few...yeah, a few...of the $15 BD's.  Revolutionary Road, Benjamin Button, The Wrestler, Taken.  Looks like another good week for filling the "holes" in the collection.

To quote Borat in regards to the lovely ladies posted...wa wa wee wa! :)

BSG this week for me, along with The Wrestler. Tempted on Benjamin Button. $15 is a nice price on any Criterion Blu-ray.

I'd love to get the complete BSG on Blu... even thought I might do it now with the Deep Discount sale, but things are a bit tight, so I think I am just gonna get the DVD of season 4.5 to complete my collection and wait on the big honkin' set.  Hey, maybe in a year or so they'll have the really really complete version with "The Plan" and the missing webisodes.

Based on the pic alone, I may have to check out "Repulsion

Thanks guys!

I'll be picking up the Battlestar Galactica set. It's alot of money all at once but the 5 (or more) individual sets will end costing more than the series set. Especially since S2 and S3 have about 20 episodes so there's no chance that they'll be $40 a piece.

Thanks for the prices, guys!

Don't forget Barnes & Noble currently has 50% off all Criterion DVD and Blu-Ray titles (online or in-store).  Most are $19.99 or less (including 'Repulsion') through August 2 (or $17.99 each of you have a B&N Membership).

I held off on picking up "Battlestar" 4.0 after the split season release for season 2 was followed up with a complete season release. Any chance of that happening for season four, as well?

Best Buy also has a $12.99 Paramount Blu-ray promotion going on today through August 22.  I can't remember all of the included titles, but I know that The Truman Show, Election, Trading Places, Payback:DC, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, U2: Rattle & Hum, The Manchurian Candidate, Black Snake Moan, Black Rain, and World Trade Center were amongst them.

Just to get clarification on something, Mike has the Spinal Tap BD listed at Best Buy for $21.99, while Patrick shows it being listed at BB for 25? Just wondering which is correct. Judging by B&M BD prices, I'm betting on the $25 price.

Good question, Will.

The $21.99 price I got from BestBuy.com.  See it HERE.

Patrick's probably is the price you'll find in-store from the flyer.  You MAY be able, however, to get a cooperative customer service rep. to pricematch for you!

Some pretty tempting prices on Blu-rays, but then again, seems like we've been getting a lot of them lately.

Unless it says online only and won't allow you to do an in-store pickup for the order, I'd think you can always go the route of in-store pickup after ordering online for the better price.

BTW, thanks for the new formatting, Mike.  That works a lot better for us IE6 users (as well as IE7 users who use lower res setups).

RE: the small nitpick about the pics issue I mentioned in the previous weekly update thread, maybe the resizing issue here is somehow caused/triggered by the couple of broken pic links -- the ones that are not hosted by HTF.  Just a guess.

?!?    Are there pictures you are not seeing, Man?

In this week's RoundUp...or last week's?

I believe I have been having the HTF host ALL of my pix for the past few weeks...ever since that very first week of the switchover.

Okay, you are saying that this week's pics are not sized correctly for IE6?!?   (I just read your latest post in last week's WRU.)

I'll have to have Cristina explain that for me, because I used her formatting suggestions.  I hate to derail my own thread on prices with formatting issues...but I need to understand what's going on.  I am now starting to get perturbed with the compatibility issues.  Even though they don't affect how I see the HTF (as I am a Firefox user), they are now affecting me since I have this weekly thread which cannot be seen by a number of my regular visitors.

I'm glad the tables are, at least, viewable by everyone...although I sure do wish I had more horizontal space for them.  I absolutely hate having all the titles "bunch up" like they do and end up wrapping themselves onto a second line of text.  There are also a number of other line spacing issues which make the WRUs about three times longer--vertically--than they used to be.

If anyone wants to chime in with their thoughts about how the "new" Roundup looks to them (since the switchover), I would love to hear about it.

No love for Whedon's Dollhouse here? I may wait a few months for the price to drop, but I most certainly want Dollhouse on BluRay, and I am eager to see the unaired episodes, and hear whatever commentaries may be on the set. But I can wait until just before season 2 starts.

Oh, plenty of love for it, but at $31 or $45 for a half season of episodes.  I'll be waiting for the price drop or sale.  If it happened before Christmas, great.  If not, no biggie.

Yeah, I thought the show was fairly good overall but definitely not $45 for 13 episodes good.

Hmmm...  Everything looks fine now, except for the 2 broken image links for pics hosted outside of HTF:  they're the 2nd and 4th pics *after* (ie. not including) your roundup pic.

And sorry about the frustration, Mike.

I took the liberty of investigating the problem with the two broken image links.  Those were actually remnants left over from a template using the Weekly RoundUp from 7-7-2009 featuring Rose Bryne and Maria Montez.  In that particular RoundUp, those images were fixed (apparently their original hosts do not permit inline linking); however, the HTML linking to those images was still in the template.  It appears Firefox strips the broken image links but they were displaying in IE6.  I went ahead and removed them from the 7-28 RoundUp and from the 7-21 RoundUp where they were also appearing.

This is frustrating.

So much for WYSIWYG.  I was "getting something" that I couldn't "see."  I had no idea that bit of detritus was carrying over from week-to-week.  I didn't see any broken link images.

It seems as if there was a benefit to constructing the RoundUp each week within a template of vbulletin code.  At least I knew how it would appear.  I have been advised that I should construct the roundup on this platform using the WYSIWYG edit boxes...but now I'm not so sure.  I guess maybe I should just learn HTML code and go back to my old way...although that paticular idea doesn't enthrall me either...although learning something new is not necessarily a bad thing.  Maybe I can get a part time job as a "coder."

AND...it appears as if I'm going to have to make adjustments each week for IE 6 users.  I guess I should have paid better attention to the discussions in the Feedback Forum about why the IE 6 users were fine in vbulletin but are not fine on the Huddler platform.  Things aren't making much sense to me right now.

Man:  Did you NOT see the Rodriguez and Alessi pix at all?!?  Or, did you see them but then ALSO saw an image letting you know there was a broken link?
