(July 16, 2009) – Michael Jai White (Spawn, Black Dynamite) heads an explosive, hard-hitting cast when the hardcore, action-packed film Blood and Bone debuts on DVD September 15 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. In this post-modern Samurai movie, ex-con, Isaiah Bone (Michael Jai White) fights for justice and his life in the dangerous underground world of gangster-controlled Mixed Martial Arts combats. Also starring Eamonn Walker (Cadillac Records, TV’s “OZ”), Ron Yuan (Fast & Furious, TV’s “Prison Break”), and Julian Sands (Ocean’s Thirteen, TV’s “24”), Blood and Bone features some of the fiercest fighters in mixed martial arts today, including Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson, Bob “The Beast” Sapp, Tanoai Reed, Gina Carano and Ernest “The Cat” Miller. SYNOPSIS:
Ex-con Isaiah Bone (Michael Jai White, Spawn) is the new force in LA's underground street fighting scene. When he takes down the reigning champ, the local mob boss wants to enter Bone in a series of high-stakes international matches. Bone's refusal sets off an explosive showdown between two powerful enemies with everything at stake.
Blood and Bone is directed by Ben Ramsey (Dragonball: Evolution) from a screenplay by Michael Andrews (Dunsmore). Christopher Eberts (Outlander, Half Past Dead), Arnold Rifkin (Live Free or Die Hard) and Todd Traina serve as executive producers. The film was produced by Nick Simunek, Matthew Binns and Michael Mailer.
