Why do you think you need THX processing?  While my current Pioneer Elite 94TXH has THX post processing, I rarely use it, as it seems to provide too dull a sound.

Integra is Onkyo's high-end brand. Look at Denon, Onkyo, yamaha and Pioneer Elite as cheaper, but still very good, alternatives. There is more than one type of THX certification so I'm not sure which exact models have what you want. And just because a receiver doesn't have "THX" on the front doesn't mean it isn't worth looking at. Why the love for THX? There are many more important things to look at like features, connections, build quality, warranty, etc.

There's little difference between Onkyo/Integra except for some system integration oriented features (RS232, ethernet ports for control systems).  If you aren't using those features you should save money & get the Onkyo.

As for THX, I agree with Scott, I have a 705 w/ THX & never use the mode anyway.  Don't know that you need to upgrade at all, new receiver is going to be smallest difference vs. other things.  The only people that *have* to upgrade soon IMO are people with receivers w/ fewer digital inputs than # of digital sources, no multi-ch analog input, no DTS.  Ancient Prologic-only or Dolby digital-only receivers.  Otherwise you aren't missing out on too much & I would throw money at every other piece of the system first.

I have to agree, I have 2 receiver with full THX certification (not the lower level certifications) but that is a complete coincidence.  It's not worth insisting on.  You limit your choices too much.
