I found out that the DVD rights are owned by Sony.

One of their home video reps told me that fans interested in seeing this film released on dvd should e-mail Sony at


consumer@sphecustomersupport.sony.com



So there you are.  Anyone who wants to suggest to Sony that they should (finally) release this film on dvd can send them an e-mail.

I have always liked this film, and kept my copy of it right to the end before selling off all evidence of that format in my home. (Same applies to THE HELLSTROM CHRONICLE, that would make a stunning Blu-ray and companion piece to MIRCROCOSMOS, which I hope Disney still plans to release).  It's actually one of the better of the lesser-known Vietnam War films. I would be happy to have a widescreen DVD.

I am holding onto my VHS of HELLSTROM and THUNDER. The odds of both coming out on DVD now is just slim.
