I think the movie's biggest obstacle is that parts of it are pretty shocking. It's very funny and there's some truly laugh out loud moments. However, I'm a pretty jaded guy and even I was shocked by

While I also found that to be hilarious, I can only imagine that alot of 'normal' audience members will be less amused than I was.

Yes, quite a bit of shocking footage in this film about Bruno, a gay, Austrian, fashion show host who finds himself on the outside of fame looking in when he finally wears out his welcome.  The rest of the film follows Bruno to the US where he tries to raise his celebrity status to A-lister status, but finds that goal to be a tough row to hoe.

The film gets funnier as it goes along, but it's a bit of a chore to sit through the first half, in spite of the outrageous footage we are shown, the pacing isn't good, and the overall concept just sputters too much because Bruno just isn't that compelling of a character, even with his remarkable lack of depth being almost too high a hurdle to overcome.

I give it 2.5 stars, or a grade of C+.

I saw this today with my wife and about 5 other people during a matinee show.

I was horrified, amused, shocked and laughed out loud several times.  Not as good as Borat but good nonetheless.

Great movie? No.

Worth a look?  Yes.

IMO Borat was a better character but Bruno had more laugh out loud moments.
