HTF iPhone/iPod Touch Backgound Images

Peter Galletta, the main graphics guru at Huddler, has made up some background images for us that you can use with your iPhone or iTouch.












Feel free to use them on your own device and as we go along Peter will be making up some
others to use.

Cool, next up can we get rid of the squished look HTF has on the iPhones browser?  Ziiing =)

Thanks Parker! Perhaps Peter can also use one of those logos to whip up a Home Screen icon for HTF on the iPhone/iPod Touch too! Just drop a 57 x 57 pixel image named "apple-touch-icon.png" into the root level folder of the HTF site and that's all it takes. A custom icon for HTF would look hot on the iPhone!

Mick, sorry I don't know what you are referring to here. Do you have an example of what you are talking about?

i think he means when you pull a website to your home screen on a ipod or touch, its the little icon it gives. I've noticed on my touch some sites have a logo that makes it look like a normal app but its really a webpage url saved to your screen for 1 touch access.

the only 2 pages i've done this with was my aol mail web page, when you pull it down to your touch, it makes a litle aol icon with a letter in the middle of it, but like my bank account page, it just pulls down a little thumbnail of whatever page i had up at the time.

so what hes saying is if you save the image of the new logo here with that name at the root folder, when people make urls to thier touch it will put that icon instead of the front page of the website

Thanks for the suggestion. As I am new to the whole iPhone/iTouch family I didn't realize you could do this. I agree Peter did a great job with the icon. I now have it on my iTouch home screen.

The Huddler guys have noted that nobody else seems really bothered by the squished look.  Is it only a problem for me?

Once the area to the right will be totally filled with ads, in the future, the page will no longer look "squished".

I'm fine with that.  But on a desktop we aren't stuck at just 40 characters, why should we be on the iPhone?  That's just way too small IMO.

No, I personally find the HTF pretty much unusable on the iPhone which is a shame because about half of my surfing is mobile.  All the extra scrolling that some have mentioned as an annoyance with the new software becomes unbareable on the iPhone.  It also makes it that much harder to read because it is so small.
