I'm sure this is not the right forum but I could not find one that fit.

I'm looking fora 50 foot ethernet cable  - what is the difference between a Cat 5e and a Cat 6 Ethernet cable.

I'm running one from my router to my PS3.   Anyone.

Plus - is there a good place I can pick up one???

For a home application, there is no practical difference between Cat 5e and Cat 6 cable. Each will support Gigabit Ethernet. In theory, Cat 6 can be used for 10Gig Ethernet, but at severe distance limitations (55 meters, vs. 100 meters for 1Gb ethernet), so it's not really that practical in commercial applications, either, but has become a standard anyway since commercial cable installations need to last for many years. For home, though, you will probably never need more than Cat 5e for many, many years.
