The Disclaimer
Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

Thanks for the Roundup!

Another slow week for me.  But looking further down the calendar I'm going to need these mid-summer savings later on in the year.

DVD & Blu-ray - It's all about the movies!

Thanks for the great looking Roundup.   Nothing for me once again.  I think my next dvd purchase will be Coraline July 21st.  Slow times indeed.

Thanks, Bill.  The Huddler team bent over backwards to try and explain how all the formatting/coding that goes into a RoundUp could be done.  They really helped me quite a lot.

For a first try, I was pleased with the way this came out.  Hopefully I'll be able to figure out a more streamlined method to do it so it doesn't take quite as much time.

Although maybe it's just that I had the old way down pat after all those years.  I remember the first few I did took me a while to get the hang of that system, too.

Thanks for the kind words!

Nothing to buy, but I am curious to see if Netflix has that 1922 "Sherlock Holmes" for rental...

That Night Train must have been a flop at the box office to be out on Blu-Ray so quickly.  IMDB lists NO normal reviews, only disc reviews.  I wonder what that's all about.

When I hear "Night Train" I think of cheap rotgut that a hobo would be drinking.

I don't even know if it got a theatrical release, Dennis.  If it did, the IMDb isn't listing on.  I did watch it with the BF and his parents a few weeks ago.  General consensus was good first half, terrible second half.  The BD itself isn't anything spectacular, either.

Nothing for me this week...and the same for next and the one after.  We're heading out on vacation Friday afternoon and I'm going to need the money for that.  Plus the DD sale which starts while we're gone.

Somehow, somewhere, Doctor Who 11 & 12, which will replace off-air Beta tapes from the mid 1980s.

Thanks as always, Mike, Patrick & all, especially this week as you get used to working with... and I get used to looking at... the new format.

Nothing for me this week, Mike, but thanks as always for the Round-up!  Like a lot of us, I am saving for some of the bigger releases coming up later this summer.

The "new" Round-up looks great and is easy to view.  However, my browser (IE8), doesn't load the first 2 or 3 pictures at the top (Knowing, Ali Baba), but I get the "library" picture and everything from Fonda on down.  Weird....

Any idea when the next Stooges set is being released?

Makes me think of Oscar Peterson.  In fact, I thought it might be a jazz biopic.

Hey, John.  Can you tell me more about this?  What OS are you using, etc.?

And, is anyone else having this problem?  I'm using Firefox 3.0.11 on XP and all is displaying fine.  But Ron Epstein says he is also having problems viewing the first couple of pictures.  I know Ron is a Mac guy--probably using Safari on OS 10.

Thanks!

Hate to hijack this thread with problems.  Actually there may not be a problem other than Safari.

This is what shows up in Safari:

The blue question marks are usually indicators that images are missing.

However, bringing this page up in Firefox it's not so.  In fact all the images
were intact under Safari, but for some reason it decided to interject blue question marks.

I'm getting the same thing that Ron posted, except with IE's red Xs instead of the blue ?s.  I'm using IE7 on Vista.
Does anyone even click on these "My Collection" links?

I answered this in the feedback thread, but I wouldn't advise linking to any IMDB-originated image file, and the Rose Byrne image is linked to a website that will make the image viewable if you have actually gone to the webpage that has the image file linked to it, and then the image file gets cached on your PC and becomes viewable.

I'm getting the same thing that Ron posted, but with the red "x's" that Eric and Scott get.  FWIW, I'm using IE8 on Windows 7 Release Candidate.  I'm sure it will be sorted out by the next Round-up.  At least we aren't missing a picture of, say, someone like Megan Fox!......

I can't see the first two pictures either, and I disabled my script blocker and allowed everything in this page..using latest FireFox 3.0.11.

As far as the round up, nothing for me, but I'll bet Jackelyn Bisset ("The Deep") will look marvelous On Hi-DEF Blu ray..

Mike: What you have to do in order to avoid hotlinking issues in the future is save the images you want to use on your computer and upload them to the HTF. Get the rest of your post into the window first, and then move the cursor to where you want the first picture to go. Click on the Upload Image icon on the HTF icon above (labeled "Insert/Upload Image" on mouseover). Your screen will go dark and the following box will appear:
HTF Add Image Tool
Use the "Browse" button to find the picture on your harddrive, add a description if needed, and click OK. The image will be inserted into your template. Repeat for each image in the Roundup.

Hmmm...  So nobody else finds Mike's roundup post forcing scrollbars?  I get scrollbars (in IE6) because the pics *and* the price tables are too wide for the post display body.

There ya go, everybody.  Thanks for the help.

The OP should now work for everyone!  LMK if there's still a problem for anyone.

If that's the only big problem I have in week #1, I consider that a victory.

You can be sure as heckfire that it'll look better than this:

I am having this same problem (also using IE6).  The scrollbars make the roundup table totally unreadable.  The ads on the right side are taking up all of the acreage on the screen (and I have a widescreen display).

Great work as always, Mike! On the weeks I forget to check here first, I always regret doing so.

Now the question is whether to pick up Push with Knowing tomorrow at Best Buy. My plan had been to wait on Push until it resurfaces sometime next year in the $7.50 racks at Walmart, but the $6 gift card for a future purchase would effectively bring the price down to $10.99 before tax. That's probably going to be a spur of the moment decision tomorrow evening.

Agreed. It seems they maybe have not been so great since the demise of Circuit City.

Barring the occasional $15 sale on the usual Warner titles, I don't think Best Buy ever had good prices on Blu-ray catalog titles. As a matter of fact, I think almost every Blu-ray catalog title that I've ever bought (I have about 50) has been from Amazon because they've always had cheaper prices than Best Buy.

I think today is the official release of Iron Maiden: Flight 666 on BD (it was a BB exclusive last month).  My Amazon preorder is in the hands of the USPS. . .
