I have always liked this movie even though it was debatable whether the picture was based on a true story. Nevertheless, we know from watching "Lockdown" things depicted in the movie happen in prison. Strong story, tight screenplay and excellent acting from the 4 boys that are later played by Brad Pitt, Jason Patrick and others. Mimmie Driver and Robert DeNiro are terrific in their supporting roles.
I purchased the Region 2/4 PAL version from Amazon UK with the video in 16x9 anamorphic widescreen and the audio in DD 5.1. When played with my BluRay player up converting to 1080P the video looked real good, very clean with solid blacks. The audio was very good for a dramatic movie with very little fast action, other than when the boys are being chased after stealing hot dogs.
For now this is as good as it gets for Sleepers until the movie is released on BluRay. Unfortunately, I have not read where it will be coming out this year. The price was very reasonable 6.76 pounds (10.88 US Dollars) making it easy to double dip if it ever comes out on BluRay.
