So as you can see this is my first post here so thanks to anyone that can help.

when is setup my 1000u in my new house it seems that the picture is just barely there.  This room is darker than the last room but the picture is so dim.  I have made all adjustments to the projector but no help.  The lamp has alot of hours.  As the lamp wears down will the picture begin to fade, or is the lamp like light bulbs where it is either on or off.

Thanks..

All lamps fade over time.  It happens so gradually that it's not usually noticed.

I also have the HD1000. How many hours do you have on it? You can try a few things. 1) Make sure Setup is set to "Off". 2) Change gamma to "High Brightness". Both of these things will give you more brightness.  After making these changes re-calibrate. If it's still too dim, 3) Change lamp to high power mode and re-calibrate. But the high lamp mode will be louder. If these things don't help enough, you need a new bulb.

In the manual it mentions regular mode and economy mode.  Nowhere does it mention a high power mode.  I was hoping someone knew something that I didn't.

Sorry, I worded it wrong. "Standard" is high power mode.

How many hours are on the bulb? Did you try the suggestions I made? Are you currently using the bulb in standard mode?

I have the bulb in standard mode...  I checked to make sure that setup was off and made sure that calibration was good.  The bulb has about 1600 hours on it.  I know its getting close to dying but I wasnt sure if the lamp faded with hours.  I figured a light bulb burns at full capacity until it burns out so maybe the same for projector lamps..   I dont want to spend 400 on a new lamp if that is not the problem.   Does anyone know of a good place to buy lamps?

Your situation is very surprising to me. I've got about 1700 hours on my HD1000, and I still use it in low power mode, cinema gamma. My room is painted very dark, and all lights off when I use projector. Do you have an ambient light problem? Is your room a light color?

The room is very dark and all the walls are painted dark...  The projector was packed away in a box for about 6 months, when I set it up in my new house is when i noticed how dim everything has become.  It really looks terrible.
