Sony STR-DG920 Problems

I'm at my wits end, hopefully someone can help me.  Also, I'm kind of new at all of this, my boyfriend hooked everything up. 

I've got a STR-DG920, with a PS3, cable box and a Wii hooked up to it.  We can watch TV and use the PS3, no problem, but when we try to turn on the Wii, all we get is a "no signal" from the TV, but we get audio.  We didn't have this problem a month ago, and we haven't done anything to change the setup, etc.

When we go into the GUI, and select the Wii input, we can see the Wii menu in the background, but when we select the Wii input from the GUI, we have video until the GUI banner at the top times out, then there is a flash of green across the entire sceen, and all we get is audio and the dreaded "no signal".

I tried to talk to Sony today, and all they did was tell us it was a: the connection b: the Wii.  We swapped all the connections around, to no avail. 

We're going to try a hard reset tonight, but does anyone have any suggestions?  Thanks in advance!

Need a lot more info.
- what brand/model # TV.

- exactly how is Wii connected.  Are you using component video (green/blue/red cables) from Wii to the receiver?  From the receiver to the TV, are you using HDMI, component video, or both?  If using both, is the problem present on both connections or only one or the other?

- there is a "resolution" setting in the video settings menu.  What setting are you using?  You may want to see the effect of changing this using the "resolution" button.  Your TV should flash a display of what it is getting or you can hit info/display on the TV.  Some TVs may not be compatible with all resolutions.  (many HDTVs won't accept 1080p, really old ones may not accept 720p).

Hard reset is not a bad idea.  You also want to test things carefully in a systematic manner, so that if you can nail down the problem to the Sony, you can get them to fix it if still under warranty.

Like:
1. Connect Wii directly to TV using component video.  Works or no?
2. Connect Wii to receiver using component, use component out from receiver to TV.  Working?
If not try with other component inputs.
3. Use HDMI out from receiver to TV. Working?  If not try the other HDMI inputs.
And repeat 2&3 with different resolution settings.  The Wii itself set to 480p output I assume.

Thanks for the reply, Stephen.  Turns out that the receiver video setting was on "direct" which didn't work with the Wii component in and HDMI to TV out.  Changed it to "auto" and peace is restored.  Amazing how simple and obvious it was in hindsight.  Although, in my defense, an hour talking with Sony tech support didn't get anywhere near the root cause.   I guess that i'll hold off on their recommendation to call Nintendo!
