DVD Shops in Chicago and New York

Hi to all

Well Im visiting the US for the first time ever and since Im in Chicago and New York, I was wondering if anyone could recommend some good shops to buy DVDs and Blurays. I have only seen Borders, but I was hoping to find a specialist who might sell more obscure or hard to find films than just mainstream stuff.

Id be grateful if anyone from these cities could help me.

When you walk through a storm, hold your head up high, And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm, there's a golden cloud, and the sweet silver song of a lark,
Walk on through the wind, Walk on through the rain,...

Simon - In NYC you might also try KIm's Video at 124 First Avenue between 7th and 8th Streets.  Lots of obscure titles and a large used selection.

Hmmm, I thought I had responded to this...anyway, in NY, try J&R Music World on Park Row, or the Entertainment Outlets on 6th/14th and Bryant Park. Online killed the video store.

For obscure and hard to find try Facets when you're in Chicago.  It's located on the near north side but not far from the downtown Loop area.

Kim's is just a shadow of their former selves. They are not only poorly stocked but also rather inconveniently located. You want to kill your business, move to First Avenue! Anyway, I used to find everything that I went in looking for but now I'm lucky to just find the latest Hollywood blockbuster.  Who's stupid enough to pay $23.00 for a film like Knowing? I always walked out of there with at least one DVD. Most times, I just walk out. Rest in peace, Kim's. I'll miss you
