Upgrading Home Theatre System

Hello.  I'm new to this forum and I'm hoping to get some input on a home theatre system updgrade I am considering.  I am trying to stay in a $3000-$4000 budget for a 50"-55" LCD TV, Receiver and Speakers.  This is what I'm leaning towards:

Sharp Aquos LC52E77U
Denon avr 2310ci   ----- wanted the 2809 but sold out at 6ave who has the bundle price with the speakers
KEF KHT 5005.2
Denon iPod dock

This package will be on the higher end of my budget.

Also considering the Marantz sr6003.    I am a beginner to HT.  I appreciate any input/suggestions you can offer.

Thanks

John

You can't go wrong with Denon.
Speaker's...you need to decide what you like, you can get opinions but only you, know what you like.

Thanks.  After more consideration, I think I will be upgrading to a slightly nicer TV model such as Samsung 240 Hz 1080p.  Also, I saw The Speaker Company TST3-HTs, which seemed pretty nice for under $1100.  How would these compare to the KEF KHT 5005.2 (other than obviously larger)?

Hey John,

Douglas makes a good point, have you had the chance to listen to either of those speaker packages to see what you like?  I don't know much about the speaker company speakers.  Do you have a preference as to the size of your speakers?  I would also be looking at a complete 5.1 speaker system (unless you wanted to build it over time).  If you are thinking about spending more than $1000 on just speakers may I suggest, definitive technologies, paradigm, or boston acoustic, even klipsch.  Also quality interconnectors can get pricy too, don't forget to leave enough money in your budget for good speaker wire, video cables, and a power center.

John,

Take a look at the SVS packages - http://www.svsound.com/products-sys-sbs_black.cfm.  You can get a really nice setup for $1000-1200.

Don't spend a fortune on wires.  Go to monoprice.com or Blue Jeans cables and save.
