Question about VGA cable, somewhat urgent.

Hi, new to the forum.
I have a question about an old projector I have. I want to hook it up to my laptop, and I don't know what the cable is called or where to find one.
It would be a standard male VGA on one end, and the other end is female, and has 2 rows, one with 8 pins and one with 7 pins.
Anyone have any input? Thanks.

Yes, on the one end.

The other end is often proprietary to the projector.  Your best bet is to contact the manufacturer, & hunt around the manufacturer's site for manual/part names/accessories associated with your projector.

I think any standard VGA cable should work, can't see why it wouldn't.  I bought a long VGA from the store I bought my receive and it worked perfectly.  I did however bend back a prong on one male end and it caused malfunction in colors showing up on my screen.  Fixed it and it worked perfectly, pretty sharp.  It's a must if you have a nice projector, youtube videos are great on screen.

Uh, because original poster clearly stated that the projector's end of connection wasn't standard VGA and has 2 rows instead of the standard 3?  Maybe it's a standard DB-15 like old Apple Mac displays have, there are cheap DB-15 -> VGA adapters around.  But I'd try to hunt down the manufacturer of the projector and confirm that is what is needed.
