Ok to put DirecTv Box behind mounted flatscreen?

wanted to mount a flatscreen in a guest bedroom but don't have a place to put the box. just wondering about the remote and sensor from the box won't read... is there a remote that would fix this? thanks in advance!

The newer DirecTV boxes have RF remote built in. You can change the mode in the menu. Check the manual for the unit you have to see if it is supported.

If your box doesn't have that ability, there are IR extenders that will work. Check out the IR sections at Smart Home and Parts Express.

Make sure the receiver has adequate ventilation as well. Some models have been known to run hot.
