Re: Ed McMahon passes away
Ed was a great personality - larger than life and always seemed to exude joy and happiness. Not to be forgotten is his service to his country in WWII and Korea. He also gave up Labor Day for many decades to be at Jerry Lewis's side during the annual MD Telethon.
His health and financial troubles that plagued his last months were very tragic and unfortunate. Hopefully his family is not left with any financial burdens.
RIP

I hope Conan will pay tribute to him tonight.Ed once appeared on Late Night when Andy Richter was still there, and acknowledged Andy's upholding the second banana tradition.
