I am currently planning to upgrade my home theater receiver. I currently have B&K AVR 507. I have been happy with its sound quality but it has limited input and no HDMI output. So here are my alternatives...
My installer is suggesting to get a Denon 4308 (he will give me a good deal on his demo unit ~$1300) for my 7.1 HT system. I have inwall triads for side and rear surround and Rocket750 as L/R and RC200 as center. Since the L-C-R are 4 ohm speakers, later on I plan to get a better amplifier to power these speakers....If I buy the Denon receiver and later on get the power amp, I should be able to use the receiver to power my outdoor speakers (I hope so..)
My other choice is to get the Integra 9.4 receiver....in that case I have to get the power amp right now and still have to get a separate amp to power my external speakers...
Any suggestions to help me out would be greatly appreciated...also if you guys have any alternate suggestions please let me know. Also any suggestion for power amp......My installer was suggesting a used Krell or Classe Audio, where as I was thinking of Emotiva :-) He agrees that separates are better but to get the same features as in Denon 4308 I have to shell out atleast $3000 just for the preamp....
