LCD mounting and using Tilt

I hope this is the right section for this question. I feel sort of silly asking this, but for my peace of mind I still want to ask.

I have a 52 Inch Sony XBR4 LCD. I've actually had it for over a year now and it's mounted in our living room with this mount
For only $20.97 each when QTY 50+ purchased - Adjustable Tilting Wall Mount Bracket for LCD Plasma (Max 165Lbs, 37~65inch) - Wide | LCD Plasma Bracket - Tilting Type
from Monoprice.

The Mount is secured very well to the wall, it aint going anywhere. The TV is up kind of high since it's above a fireplace and so I'm using the mounts tilt feature to "Point" the TV down towards our couch. My stupid question is, are these mounts safe to have titled? I'm wondering about the weight being distrubuted wierd while it's tilted, compared to if I hade the TV parallel to the wall.

Occasionally I hear the TV creak, which sounds like the plastic on the TVs housing settling, but is still freaks me out. I check the mount on the wall and on the TV and it seems as solid as ever. Still. I'm paranoid. I don't want my TV to come crashing down.

Re: LCD mounting and using Tilt

It should be fine. Because of it tilting it may make a bit more noise settling than normal, but most displays that are made to be mounted are made to support being mounted at an angle.
