This version has proven to be very reliable since it debuted a year and a half ago.

I have the "middle" generation Samsung Joe Kane SPA-800. It is a fantastic PJ. Color is spot on and I have had it for just over a year and have had no problems (350+) hours. I have several friends with more hours on them with no problems either. The 900 looks like a fantastic PJ.

I know that the 800 has a DC2 and the 900 a DC4, and there was a gamma change from 2.5/6 to 2.4. Were there any other changes?

Differences also include: some improvement to the optical path inside the projector to increase contrast, internal processing for anamorphic lens use, continuously variable (sliding scale) manual setting of the iris position in the user menu, and HDMI input includes a PC mode.
