Panasonic RP-91, region free, and PAL

I have found information on upgrading the firmware for my RP-91 and how to make it region free, but will it be able to play PAL DVDs? I'm interested in getting the Laurel & Hardy 21-disc set from Amazon UK, but want to make sure I can watch them on my home system.

My TV is a Mits 55819 RPTV.

Any input is most appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Panasonic RP-91, region free, and PAL

I was still using my old RP-91 on a bedroom system until very recently, it was a good player for SD-DVD and CDs. But I'm not aware of any hack that would allow it to play PAL DVDs. That doesn't necessarily mean there isn't one, just that I've never heard of it.

I still own a Panny RP-91 (it's in our bedroom now), and I have never heard of a firmware upgrade/hack for PAL support, either.
