Home Theater Forum 2.0 Has Arrived!

I have yet to find anything about this new software that was better then the old. After a day with this, I am not a fan of it at all. There's nothing I can find that makes this better then the old. Why ads on a side bar? Can we expand the threads to fill the screen? Can we change colors of the threads, these are too bland and makes it more difficult to read?
with that said i have to agree with Ron P.

Will we have that again?
Also, it was much easier to differentiate between threads replied to yesterday and threads replied to today due to using a bold font on today's date.

On the old HTF site, I liked the fact that the threads on a main page in a forum showed you how many pages of replies there were. I used that feature all the time because I didn't like clicking into a thread and having to click page after page to get where I wanted to be. For the most part I could go right to the exact page I wanted, unless it was a very large thread.

I've been going back to school and haven't had nearly as much time to hang out here as I used to, but I just have to say there needs to be an option at least to have messages displayed the old way, and to turn that floating "Other Threads" thing off. I can see how it might be useful to some people, but to me it's annoying and wastes too much screen space- when the messages are confined to a smaller space, the more scrolling I have to do, and the more scrolling I have to do, I get angry, and when I get angry.....
You just click the "multi-quote" button for each post you want to quote, and then click the "quote" button on one of the posts and you get what you see in this post of mine.

Thanks.
And that's a completely weird and unfindable way to work. Reminds me of the puzzles to the old Infocomm puzzles :)

I was completely lost on how to use this feature as well.
New question: Many times after I post when I hit the button to go back to the forums the screen just brings me back to my completed post. Any one else having this problem?

What "button" are you pressing? If you're just pressing the browser's "back" button, that's where you should end up.

Where ya been, stranger?!? We've been going through a little bit of a transition the past several days. Things have changed, indeed!
Nice of ya to stop by! Don't be a stranger!

"How wonderful it will be to have a leader unburdened by the twin horrors of knowledge and experience." -- Mr. Wick
Not sure what the outcome will be. There was talk that instaed of moderators making threads sticky, they may turn them into wikis. Not sure how popular an idea that is.
As for allowing individual members to sticky their own threads to the top of a sub-forum, the response has been unclear as to whether that feature will return.
I have been lobbying for a return of the feature which allowed members to createtheir own list of "favorite" threads--which used to be seen on the old UserCP. I found that device extremely useful. It was great having a designated place where you could quickly find the threads to which you commonly-referred.

Well it has been over 6 weeks since the HTF 2.0 hit. It definitely hit harder than I expected.
I see many recovery efforts in process, but there is still much work to be done. How are you guys holding out? Still got enough salsa and silica supplies?

6 Weeks and it all looks exactly the same to me, more readable and not as bright perhaps but still the same thing we saw on that fateful day in early July... I remember back on the old forum when Parker would change the colour scheme to coincide with an upcoming movie or dvd, and people complained... [wipes tear]
