Tv only has one audio in and one video in, can I hook the dvd player to this tv not having a left and right audio in's? I have a smaller tv with the 3 inputs, but if I can I'd like to use to other one.

Any help would be appreciated.

Just has the cable screw on connection in the back, and just a single rca audio, and single video rca in the front. Not sure how old it is, but it's atleast 6....

I solved the problem, using a smaller flat screen with s-video and multiple other plugs.

The "cable screw on connection" is an F-connector for RF audio/video. If you want to use the larger screen then you can get an RF modulator from Wal-Mart. On the other hand, it is the worst connection available as far as quality is concerned.

Yeah, I just put that TV in the junk room and using a little flat screen for now. It has all the plugs I need. Going looking for a reciever today. I have done some research, and gonna look for a 5.1 reciever. Should be plenty for me if I can find one near 100w per, and a sub out. That oughta keep me busy for a while.

Re: Hooking up dvd....

Found a 5.1 reciever, just wondering if I use only 2 of the channels for now until I can decide on the other speakers.....will that hurt anything?....or raise the output to the 2 speakers, since the others aren't used?

Re: Hooking up dvd....

Won't hurt anything. The amps are independent but you will gain about 10% extra wattage if you turn the volume to full blast.
