Resurrection. After enduring unspeakable torture, Dean escapes from Hell, rescued by an all-powerful creature he's never seen before ─ an Angel ─ a warrior of God who recruits Sam and Dean in Heaven's battle against Hell. And there are whispers that a certain fallen angel will soon be freed from his prison deep in Hell: Lucifer. If Sam and Dean can't stop it ─ if Lucifer walks free ─ he'll bring on the Apocalypse. Meanwhile, the Winchester brothers reunite and hit the road, battling the supernatural wherever they go. They encounter demons, spirits, Dracula himself and even a drunk, heavily armed seven-foot-tall teddy bear. All the while, the ultimate war draws them into its horror throughout this enthralling six-disc, 22-episode Season Four set. Caught between Heaven and Hell, between God and the Devil, the Winchester brothers must battle for the future of humankind.

Re: WHV Press Release: Supernatural: The Complete Fourth Season (DVD/Blu-ray)

Great series once you get into it! I got all the first three seasons last year; watched 'em as a marathon. Loved it! Now I'm on the fence on whether I should get this set as a BluRay--it sure is pricey compared to the standard def...That's a problem all tv-on-dvd series have--the BR is always too pricey. I hope the prices even out one day soon...

Re: WHV Press Release: Supernatural: The Complete Fourth Season (DVD/Blu-ray)

Love this show, and it's probably the only TV-on-DVD release this year that I'll buy on release day!

It's nice to have the "unaired scenes" as bonus features, but it's a shame they cannot add that footage back into the episodes as is done with the sets of "Lost" and "Desperate Housewives", and promoted as "The Extended Experience".

And for those who've followed the show from the beginning and know the characters well, "Yellow Fever" has to be the funniest episode of the series so far.

When the cat jumps out of the locker and Dean screams like a little girl, I laughed so hard I nearly peed myself!

Dean: That was SCARY!!

Uncle Joe: I'll never marry you, Selma Plout!  You may as well take off that wedding dress and put it back in your Hopeless Chest!

Re: WHV Press Release: Supernatural: The Complete Fourth Season (DVD/Blu-ray)

As a longtime Supernatural fan, I agree that "Yellow Fever" is one of the funniest episodes of the series. As good as the scene in spoilers is, my favorite moment from the episode has to be

Dean's cover of "Eye of the Tiger".

For humor on the show, I'm also a big fan of "Hollywood Babylon" from season 2, but I digress.

I was really pleased with the narrative arc of Season 4 and it will be a pleasure revisiting this season on Blu-ray.

Fidelity to the source should always be the goal for Blu-ray releases.

Despite the name's suggestion, the Lost episodes don't have any footage added to them on DVD/Blu-ray. I guess the 'extended experience' is marketing hyperbole or it refers to the one or two episodes a year that ABC lets run an extra 2 minutes.

They should have at least made a Director's cut of the pilot for BluRay...but they didn't. They should edit extended scenes into every episode if it helps the show make more sense. Judging by some of the scenes that were deleted for time, I'd say some of the stuff they cut explains the show a little better.

I really like the show as well but I surprisingly haven't picked up the season sets yet. I was gonna wait til season 1 and 2 get a Blu-Ray release but I think I may pick them anyway on regular dvd.

I've seen them on sale a few places at only $19.99 per season, so they're certainly reasonably priced if you want them.
