New Theater Room

Hi,

I'm new to this forum and would like to get some advise from professionals and buyers with similar experiences. I have purchased a new house and have a theater room, which is 16 long by 11 wide with 9 foot ceilings. I am learing as I go and would like some opinions if I am doing the correctly. I have no windows in the room and I have one light which is on a dimmer switch. I have a 7.1 surround sound system pre wired.

Products that I have purchased.
- Infocus 10x, 1080p, 1200 Lumens, DLP projector
- 106" Elite EZ Fixed screen, 16:9 format

Products that I am looking at, but not purchased. I would like some opinions here as well.

-pioneer elite vsx-03thx reciever
-boston acoustics dsi455 ceiling speakers or vri555
-sub, I dont know yet

(also for the speakers, I was told I need 6 of the same and 1 for the center) I dont know what that means.

I would like if you guys/gals can help me out with this project. And if I have bought something bad? Thanks again and look foward to discussing with you.

What's your budget?

For sure, pass on the ceiling speakers. Just about any decent "regular" speakers will blow them away.

6 of the same means you should use the same speakers for your Front Left-Right, Center, and Surround channels, so that the timbre matches. What's your speaker/sub budget?
