I have a new theater i am building, i have the Epson Powerlite 6100 projector, and i am looking at a 120 to 123 inch screen. i like the vutec and draper screens becuase of the velvet border. can any one help me with the gain, manufacture to go with. The theater room is a dedicated room in the basement so when the sconces are turned off there is virtually no light

Re: need help with screen

Greetings

Carada, Stewart and Dalite also have frames with velvet type material.

Don't compare gains between companies. It does not work that way. A Dalite 1.3 is not the same as a Carada 1.3 or a Stewart 1.3 ...

Re: need help with screen

Greetings

A gray type screen if you have wanting blacks.

Do you have total light and room environment control? White walls and ceilings are not good for projected images. Nor are movie posters with reflective surfaces.

If you have a bat cave environment ... any 1.3 type material will be fine. Spend more on the screen since projectors tend to come and go more often than the screen.

go with black backing ... and avoid perforated screens.
