I don't know either way, but that doesn't quite sound the same as, "Coldplay and Bryan Adams are still hold outs for approval on some of their songs. Sad." The bottom line for me is I'm more interested in what they are able to do than what they aren't. Kudos to the artists (or rights holders) who are not mud in the path of this show bringing music to the public. Go Madonna.

I was touched by Artie's solo, and the episode just kept building and building to a solid episode that was very surprising, but also character-revealing through spot-on conversations, actions, and understanding.  This show is truly a weekly treat to be savored and enjoyed.

I love peeling back the layers of the Sue Sylvester onion. I've always been a fan of Mike O'Malley, those horrible Time Warner Cable ads notwithstanding, and this may be the best role of his career. I found his scenes with his gay son tonight incredibly moving. Television doesn't show us enough father-son relationships.

Just wow.  The Sue Sylvester thing was something I did not see coming at all, but found it incredibly moving.  And the students doing a ramp?  I was really moved by that.  Not kidding.  I had a family member who was disabled, and the concept of getting a wheelchair ramp way back then (let's say several decades ago) was so unheard of they would have preferred they stay home.

 

Seeing kids do that was a great moment.  Actually, I thought the whole episode was maybe one of the best of the series for getting under the skins of the characters.

Next week looks pretty funny.

Wow! Fantastic episode. The Sue thing was a revelation but I loved how the show was about inclusion without hitting you over the head with it. Plus, two Artie songs and one from Tina. I like how they're not just concentrating on the main characters.

I want to see an ep with Britney (right hand) and the M & M boys (Mike and Mark).

Good episode! Thoroughly enjoyed it and the music.

Loved the latest episode!  Who knew that Sue had a human side?  But it may explain why she's such an overachiever. 

I knew I was watching something special when Artie's first solo started.  Ingenious, turning a Billy Idol song into vaudeville song and dance number.  And you had to feel for him when he told Tina that his works still.... worked. 

 

Plus, with all the initiative Puck showed this episode, I think Quinn is starting to realize that she may have picked the wrong man to be the father.  I can't imagine this plotline continuing much longer before the truth comes out. 

 

And I agree with Adam.  The scenes between Mike O'Malley and Chris Colfer have an emotional honesty that is rare in any form of entertainment. 

Quinn's dad was too much of an over-the-top conservative stereotype. I guess they tried to balance it out by defying expectations with Kurt's blue-collar dad, but it still felt like flogging a, if not dead, at least extremely well-flogged horse. Hopefully they muddy the waters with his character and give him a bit more complexity in the weeks to come.

That said, I do like how it positions Quinn's character. It'll be interesting seeing how she adapts to a) not being rich and b) having her entire world yanked out from under her. I love "Lean on Me", and I thought the rendition at the end was very moving.

I thought it was an interesting way of using ballads to push forward the truth and let the chips fall where they may.

What the hell happened to Charlotte Ross?

Would have loved to have heard more of mash-up started in Shu's back seat.

The reaction shots of Shu and Rachel during Endless Love was hi-larious.

Good overall episode, can't wait for next week.

Mercedes advice to Puck was beyond cruel.. it was just wrong.  "She's already chosen the father.."  Uh, no, biology did that.  If Puck doesn't stand up and make it clear to Finn that the child is biologically his, then it is one of the most cruel things ever on TV.. the moment Finn signs a birth certificate as the father, biology stops meaning anything.  And Quinn going along with this and living with him is also a weird cuckold type moment.. the whole sequence is.

 

But Puck owes it to the child and his friend to own up and tell him the truth ;)  Mercedes is just wrong.  I was shocked at her advice.

Me thinks that Mercedes has serious daddy issues of her own. I'm guessing a deadbeat biological father and perhaps a really decent stepfather. That had to be more about her than anything to do with Puck, Finn or even Quinn.

Same here with Mercedes advice.  The bit that annoyed me was when she said Quinn already picked the father and told Puck "not to screw it up for her".  Apparently letting Finn go through life thinking he's the father is ok as long as Puck doesn't complicate things.

Wow, that was probably my favorite ep yet.

I've never seen a show so charmingly schizophrenic in all my life, it's up, it's down, it's happy, it's sad yet it all manages to feel warm and cozy lol.

The part that got me the most upset was when Quinn's parents found out, I just don't understand parents like that I guess, what's done is done, now help her deal with it, don't shut her off and throw her out of the house like that.

Although I did LOL at the double meaning of her dad's line..."He does wear a helmet when he plays, right?" haha.

This ep featured some of my fav ballads, 'I'll Stand By You' (great scene, so touching how he was singing to a sonogram) and 'Endless Love' (even before Shuster's inner-monologue I saw that he was like "I really shouldn't be doing this.") hehe.

Also loved Shuster trying to get the message to Rachel with 'Don't Stand So Close To Me', it was hilarious because I could see that she wasn't getting it and he was desperately trying to get it across lol.

The ending was great with them singing 'Lean on Me' to Finn and Quinn, it was sweet and sad at the same time which is sort of representative of how this show is in general, all over the map yet endearing, I love it.

Also, I have a new TV crush, on Dianna Agron who plays Quinn, she's got a smile that's just insane.

I think the problem with Quinn's dad is not that he's a Christian (and a pretty poor one at that) or that's he's a conservative.  The problem is that he's an egotistical prick.  His reaction to the pregnancy was basically "How dare you do something like this to me?"  It was obvious that his wife and daughter live in fear of him.

And now that Puck has actually spoken the truth aloud, I cannot imagine him continuing to suffer in silence.  This whole Rachel/Puck/Quinn/Finn/Kurt ménage is bound to blow up very soon, probably at the most inconvenient moment for maximum dramatic effect. 

Not sure what you mean. It has been nearly seven years since her justifiably famous scene at the beginning of the NYPD Blue episode, "Nude Awakening", perhaps the zenith for prime-time broadcast television. A year later, Janet Jackson happened, and we haven't gotten close since -- as far as I know.

Don't Stand So Close To Me/Young Girl - probably the worst mash-up ever, and I like both songs.

But this is one of the best shows on TV right now and I enjoyed this episode.

 I kind of liked the mash up, but it was weird that they chose to rewrite the lyrics to Young Girl from:

Young girl, get out of my mind
My love for you is way out of line

to:

You girl, you're out of your mind
Your love for me is way out of line

In order to convey that Shue was not interested in Rachel.  And yet, they kept other lyrics from both songs that implied that Shue was attracted to Rachel.  So there was a bit of cross purposes there.  But I was in hysterics for the entirety of the song because of Shue's reaction shots.

If you are able to re-watch that scene, it's shocking that you see her full on ass a couple of times.  It's like, "is this from a European cut?"  There is no way in hell any network could get away with something like that now.  Even though this was originally broadcast in the safe harbor period, no network is willing to take on the backlash over something like this.  Oh, and BTW, Charlotte Ross plain got old.  I know the feeling.

When Finn was lying in bed singing to the sonogram on his laptop, I thought there was going to be a, "mom caught her son masturbating to laptop porn" joke.  Uh... I guess that was at odds with the moment.

Another really strong episode of the best new show of the season (sorry NCIS: LA, I still love you).  I enjoyed  the mash-up greatly, and thought it was one of the better ones (whoever is is putting these together really needs some recognition).

Enjoyable episode, with some great comedic moments. My favorite was seeing Emma lose her composure and fall under the spell of Will's ballad.

Quinn's father was a tedious regurgitation of the stereotypically hypocritical, conservative, Christian parent. But Glee is filled with outrageously crazy people, so I tried to roll with it.

And as for crazy: Teri continues to shock and awe! :)
