I recently upgraded to a Sony Aquos HDTV, Sony Blu-ray player, Roku box, and a Yamaha RXV-465 5.1 receiver. Attached to the receiver I have the Blu-ray player in HDMI 1, the TV in HDMI 2 and the Roku box in HDMI 3. I get NO sound interruption when watching a Blu-ray DVD. When watching HDTV or non HD channels, there are constant brief sound interruptions that do not follow a pattern. When setting up the receiver I used the Yamaha microphone to set the speakers. I also have a Velodyne SPL sub-woofer and the 5 speakers are in the ceiling (3 in front and 2 in back). I have not yet tried any Netflix movies over the Roku box so I do not know if any sound interruptions exist in that venue. I am not very literate with respect to these home theater systems so if you can help me in layman's terms, it would be most appreciated.
