Good day all, I'm new to the HD/HDMI world and am looking for some help.
Recently I purchased a 50" Panasonic plasma (model TC-P50U1) TV along with a Yamaha HTR-6260 AV receiver.
I've managed to hook up my old CD player to it, and the Blue Ray, but am having trouble playing sound through the receiver from basic cable.
I do not have a digital cable box, or a HD box, just the plain old cable in from the wall.
I do have the HDMI cable running from the TV to the receiver.
I already tried hooking up some RCA cables into Video 1, and to one of the AV ports on the receiver, but have had no luck.
Do I need one of the digital audio cables?
