Does anyone have an opinion of the Dynex 42" 1080p LCD that is going for $599 at Best Buy?

Customer reviews on the site seem to be good, but I can't find any official reviews out there.

Re: Dynex 42" 1080p LCD for $599 - Worth It?

Greetings

House brand. No warranty service for the unit after standard warranty period ends. If you need additional warranty ... get it right away or through a third party shop.

Third Tier TVs do not have much of a repair network. Great if the TV just keeps working ... not so great if the TV breaks after year 1.

Another issue with 2nd and 3rd tier displays is that they often have poor scalers. So they may look pretty decent with a HD source, but not so good when displaying standard definition.

I dont personally own a dynex LCD, but I have a friend that bught a 32" a few years ago and it has not had one problem. I think thats a good deal for one brand new.

Thanks everyone.

I've yet to see this in stores. It is listed on Best Buy's website as being available at two local store, but neither had it set up.
