I doubt the Panny is any great shakes despite its relatively high MSRP(?). If you're already happy w/ the Yammy, probably just stick w/ it (unless you know something about the Panny that you *really* want that is not provided by the Yammy).
Otherwise, you're probably better off just looking at something higher up from Yamaha or Onkyo instead. I've never heard particularly good things about Panny's audio gear (nor Technics, their former audio-only brand, though some of their stuff was decent enough for mainstream audio gear).

No! No! No! Don't do it! Keep the Yamaha. Forget the high Panasonic MSRP. You would be getting a $299 receiver for $299. I know it uses a digital amp and weight isn't the only thing to look at but the BX-500 only weights 11 lbs! Panasonic can do a whole lot better. Or maybe they should just stick to video.
