Programming Yamaha Home Theater Remote to control DVD Audio ?

Hi,

I have Sony TV, Sony DVD Player and Yamaha Home Theater.

I am having bit of a trouble while Controlling DVD Audio with Remote Control of Yamaha Home Theater as None of My Controls are working with Remote Control of Yamaha while playing DVD Movies.

I have to reply on DVD Player's Remote for Play,Start,Pause,Fast Forward etc. but DVD Player's remote is not able to control Audio which comes from Yamaha Music System.
So to control audio I have to manually Turn the Nob on Yamaha's Home Theater.

Can you please let me know How to Program my Yamaha remote so that I would be able to Control Sony DVD Player functions including Audio with the help of Yamaha Home Theater Remote only ?

Re: Programming Yamaha Home Theater Remote to control DVD Audio ?

The instructions for programming your Yamaha remote should be in the manual for your home theater receiver. If you don't have it, you can download it from the Yamaha Electronics - Home Theater and Audio products web site.

If after reading the instructions you still need more help, then you need to list model #s and exactly what you can't get working, what part of the instructions you don't understand.

You may or may not be able to get the Yamaha remote to work the DVD, depends if it is preprogrammed or learning, and if it's new enough to have codes for the Sony in its built-in database. In the long run you may be best off getting a third-party universal remote, like Logitech Harmony.
