Subwoofer Connection Issue

I have a new receiver with the audio out to the subwoofer designed for subwoofer cable, a single RCA jack. I have an older sub that has two inputs designed for speaker wire (the little lever deals that pinch the speaker wire). Is there any way to get the two to talk to one another, or am I now in the market for a new subwoofer? Thanks

Re: Subwoofer Connection Issue

You have a passive sub (no amp) and a receiver designed to drive an active sub (with an amp). All you need to do is add an amp to the sub. Is it worth the money? I don't have enough information to answer that. What sub is it? Manufacturer and model numbers help a lot. If you want to add an amp, what is your budget? If you go with a new sub, what is that budget?

Re: Subwoofer Connection Issue

It is an old RCA sub from a home theater package, so I'm pretty sure it's not worth the money to buy an amp to power it. Any suggestions on active subs? I'm not looking for anything crazy, just want a little low end sound. My budget is small, probably in the $100 to $200 range. Thanks for your help.
