Separate system for HT & Music

I was already planning to buy a HT system which comprises of Left and right speakers, center speaker, surround speakers, receiver and subwoofer. However, I heard from my friends that I still need a separate system for my music.

Is it really true that we need to have two separate systems if we want to have the best for both theater and music?

If your budget is in the $100K range, then yeah; maybe you want separate systems. Otherwise, just look to upgrade your speaker purchase from what you might have gone with for home theater only.

Indeed. Someone is pulling your leg. Go with what sounds good to you. Don't let anyone dictate your listening choices. What sounds wonderful in someone else's home may sound awful in yours.
