Okay everyone back again.....

I have been looking to cheaply upgrade an ancient JVC receiver in my bedroom for the past few weeks on and off. Basically just for HDMI and since its old. I say cheaply, meaning below $500 bucks. I haven't seen anything that makes me willing to send the money yet. Today I ran across an older Yamaha RX-V2700 for below 700 and it makes me wonder if that would be the better receiver for my living room setup and I could move the 5200 to the bedroom.

So other than the additional power the Yamaha provides and the general hate that most have for Sony is there any other valid reasons for spending more than I wanted? In a previous post I expressed my complaint was that maybe the Sony wasn't powerful enough and the non assignable HDMI kinda angered me but I have been living with it for a couple years now so it must not be too bad.

I know I'm far from breaking the budget here but looking for the usuals pros to push me in the "smart" direction. Again I will only buy this Yamaha if it is decent upgrade over the 5200 ES for my living room setup. My bedroom setup is not really important. Thanks all!
