Re: Chickenfoot

This is SWEET! Looks like it's shapin up to be another hard rock summer. Hey Greg, Thanks bro! It doesn't happen much, but, this one went completely under my radar.

" I think it's time we go to plan B". "What's plan B?" "That's the one where we don't do something stupid".

Re: Chickenfoot

I stumbled on it the other day and was pretty enthused. Glad to spread the word a bit.

Re: Chickenfoot

Chad Smith deserves better than this.

On the other hand, I think this type of pure cheese is what Smith is into deep down. There's a story about how he auditioned for RHCP and his look/style was all toned-down so he would seem appropriate for the band and then he was spotted shortly thereafter all glammed-up and styled/teased at some hair band show.

Don't you ever, EVER compare me to "Family Guy," you hear me Kyle? Compare me to "Family Guy" again and so help me, I will kill you where you stand!

Do you have any idea what it's like? Everywhere I go: "Hey Cartman you must like 'Family Guy,' right?" "Hey, your sense of humor reminds me of 'Family...

Re: Chickenfoot

Third song is up at their facebook page. So far I'm liking what I hear. I'll definitely pick up the album when it's released.

Re: Chickenfoot

Good stuff - I am all over this. Reading the comments on the ticket presales this looks like another act I'll never get to see live. Good thing I am becoming more hermit-like I 'spose....

Re: Chickenfoot

Thanks for the notice, Tony. I recorded the show in order to see them, but it cut off during Joe's solo. It was just as well, because I wasn't that impressed. I am still interested in the CD and I know they are capable of putting on a hell of a show, but this particular song or performance didn't grab me.

Re: Chickenfoot

Sometimes this statement comes off as hyperbole, but...

I think this is one of the best rock releases in years. There isn't one bad song on the album and while it isn't anything deep or reflective, it is simply just fun, good-time rock that is slightly retro without being derivative to a point of parody. Everyone shines on the record too, there is no one personality overshadowing another. It definitely is the sum of its parts.

If you like classic rock then you'll like Chickenfoot.

If you're on the fence about getting the album, you can listen to it at:

CHICKENFOOT Listening Party

And watch the video for "Oh Yeah" here:

Home Page | Chickenfoot

At least these guys are having fun. And if the band is having fun, it's contagious and the audience has fun.

This band might hit the spot in a world that needs some true rock that makes you smile and feel good.

Re: Chickenfoot

Brian, I agree completely - this CD kicks ass in at least 100 different ways. IF you like rock with tasty hooks and great jams this is a must buy.
