New user restrictions

Hello HTF,

I'm fairly new here, was seeking help with subwoofer construction, but was plagued by the fact that every one of my posts needed moderation until have them appear.

I'm also unable to edit previous posts, leading to many extra posts used to correct previous posts.

What are the limits and how and when do I get to have them removed?

Thank you.

Re: New user restrictions

Hi David!

Welcome to HTF.

There is a huge problem concerning spammers signing up
to our forum for the sole purpose of posting links.

This is the reason why initial member posts that contain
links are carefully scrutinized.

Once you begin a normal cycle of posting here there should
be no further delays in getting your messages posted.

We are very sorry for the problems our security measures
have caused you, but hopefully you understand the problems
that exist for forums like ours and the need for us to do whatever
we can to keep spammers from ruining the enjoyment of this
forum for others.

If you have any other concerns please do not hesitate to let me know.

Thanks for being a member here.

Re: New user restrictions

I am also new - and have recieved the very polite message saying my posts will be monitored before posting - personally I think this a very good practice.

Because I have absolute no patience what is the normal delay before a new member post is ..er.. posted?
