LG sound dropout

I have LG 42PG60UD plasma and LG HT953TV HTIB. Looks great, sounds great. Every so often the sound drops out for a second. Picture doesnt miss a beat. Does it on free to air via optical cable AND on DVD via HDMI cable (1.3). Doesn't do it when using ONLY TV speakers! Has been back in shop for a week to no avail. Suggestions please.

Re: LG sound dropout

What did the shop say? They couldn't reproduce the problem or just couldn't fix it? I'd try to get a replacement under warranty, or just return for something else.

Re: LG sound dropout

Shop said they couldn't reproduce the problem. Suggested I try to single out a speaker as that may be causing it. I did not take 4 speakers into shop.

Re: LG sound dropout

Well, try to figure out how to reliably reproduce it (with DVDs), then take the discs & the speakers into the shop with you, and show it to them.

Try using some video connection other than HDMI, to make sure you are not running into some weird HDMI handshaking problem.

Re: LG sound dropout

Shelly I don't understand your question. TV is Optical to amp, DVD is HDMI to amp. Was that your querie?
