Battlestar Galactica (no spoilers)

I am sorry to start a new thread. But, I was a constant watcher of BSG. Then right after they left the cylon occupied planet (where one year went by). I missed a few episodes. So I decided to wait until the dvd came out...Which I did. And of course I got side tracked and still haven't gotten to it. Now I am waiting for the final season...It's killing me. I try to avoid all spoilers. But, its not easy. Now, I am debating waiting until the blu-ray episodes come out. LOL

Bring back John Doe! Or at least resolve the cliff-hanger with a 2hr movie or as an extra on a dvd release.

Don't wait. A truly terrific series finale, and a lot of great stuffs happens between New Caprica and the end.

My thoughts on BSG

I have been following show since before it aired. About six years ago a friend of mine (on the production)) called me and "We are doing a remake of Battlestar Galactica for SciFi". I was not a fan of the original and had little hope for the remake, so I viewed the mini-series and series with a great deal of skepticism. That faded quickly to be replaced with the realization that I was watching something special. I have a number of wonderful memories of the not just the show itself but the production behind the scenes.
Here are a couple.
-Saw an rough cuts of several episodes episode, with stand-in scenes and effects and in one case a different ending compared to the one that aired.
-Wandering the BSG sets in Vancouver, meeting and the cast, crew and production staff. We spent the entire day there, until the stages shut down for the night.
- My fav; sitting in Starbuck's Viper on the Hanger Deck.

It has been a lot of fun seeing the development of what I feel is the best SF show, ever, on television. And I have to thank my friend for taking me along on this ride.

Re: Battlestar Galactica (no spoilers)

Since this is a no spoiler discussion I would like to know if someone can answer this question without giving away spoilers:

Why is this civilization (on Caprica) wearing exacly the same clothing as we are on Earth? Is this a sloppy artistic decision, or (I hope) is there some king of explaination?

It's a truly fantastic show, but it's the only thing that bothers me right now.

I'm almost finished with season 1, by the way.

Is there a question? I don't see why we need a separate thread.

I don't think anyone can even tell you whether they can answer the question without giving away spoilers.

There's really only one way to be sure of avoiding spoilers: Don't read internet threads. Too many people disagree over what constitutes a spoiler.

Unless the OP can provide a good rationale for the continuation of this thread, I'm closing it.

There is no direct explanation given for this. There is a very oblique reason shown in the series finale (nothing is ever stated out loud). That's all I'm gonna say!

Re: Battlestar Galactica (no spoilers)

So the show is over, but we're not allowed to talk about it. What exactly is this thread for?

"Because he's the hero that Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now... and so we'll hunt him... because he can take it... because he's not a hero... he's a silent guardian, a watchful protector... a DARK KNIGHT."

My point exactly. Note that most of the posts in this thread so far are by participants in the existing thread.

With different people at different points in catching up, I don't see how it's possible to define the parameters of a "no spoiler" thread. What's not a spoiler to someone who's finished season 2 is most definitely one to someone who's just finished season 1.

Thread closed.
